So I followed it to download VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-925676.exe.Īfter installing the 4.1 client, there is only one short cut on my desktop still. VMware KB: Unable to download the vSphere Client from an ESX/ESXi 4.1 hostīrowsing around a bit more online I found the following which lists a few versions of client links. The link to VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-491557.exe works however. When I searched this online I found the following link however the link to VMware-viclient-all-4.1.0-258902.exe fails also. However, when clicking on the download client link it's referring me to the following link which fails.
(The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.)ġ) If vSphere client 6.0 will work with ESXi 4.1?Ģ) Why can I not download whatever it is that I need to download?ģ) Is there another place where I can download and install the required files separately?įor the record, if I type "vmware -vl" at CLI it shows the following:Īndre, finally I'm able to connect again and you're right I'm able to browse to the web page served by the ESXi. The login process will now exit.ĭetails: The server could not interpret the client's request. The required client support files cannot be retrieved from the server "". So I clicked on "Run the installer" but then I was given another dialog box with the title "Update Save Failed" and the following message. Click Run the installer or Save the installer.Īt the bottom of the dialog box there are 3 options: The required client support files need to be retrieved from the server "" and installed. But when I tried to connect to the ESXi 4.1, I'm given a popup with the title Updating and the following message. So I downloaded the latest vSphere client 6.0 and installed it all fine.
